Twenty five years have passed since the defeat of Lord Voldemort. During those years, the survivors of the second war settled down with families of their own. Things have remained quite peaceful through the wizarding world mainly due to Harry Potter's miraculous run as head auror for the Ministry. Many of the survivors have gone on to make a difference in the wizarding world whether it be by teaching the current generation of Hogwarts students or working in the Ministry. Their children have been under a lot of stress over the years, attempting to live up to some of their well known parents. Rita Skeeter's quill has been rampant since the demise of Voldemort. She promised many of the survivors, their own books in exchange for information about them. So, everyone in the wizarding world knows more than just the names of Potter and Weasley.
Hogwarts has been run well with McGonagall serving as its Headmistress. The school was restored to its former glory after the war with more protection than ever being used on it. While students have been able to enjoy years without the fears of a Basilisk, there is still fear of a third war occurring. Peace can only last for so long before evil attempts to rise again. Hogwarts receives trips from aurors at times just to ensure that no one is attempting to stir up any future war. Classes have even become more advanced after the second war. This was merely due to the success of Dumbledore's Army.
Recently, people have begun dying rapidly with the most recent death being Stan Shunpike. He was found in the Knight Bus along with Ernie, both were killed by the Avada Kedavra curse. No one is sure on who is beginning to kill people rapidly again. The one hint is that some wizards have been claiming to have seen a woman with black hair and a deadly crackle to her voice. Some believe it to be Bellatrix Lestrange, however it's not possible to bring anyone back from the dead? Or is it? The resurrection stone was left in the Forbidden Forest, the one item that was known to bring back individuals in a ghost like form. The question is how Bellatrix returned and if former death eaters are to follow. The biggest question though is if Lord Voldemort will return.
With people dying again, the aurors have been working nonstop to find the source of the killings. The students are mixed with fear and the desire to help their efforts. The dueling club has been started again though it is much similar to Dumbledore's Army. Other students have begun to form another group, one involving dart arts. No future dark lord will rise from them, but they want to prepare themselves in case the rumors of Bellatrix Lestrange's return is true. If it is, it means these students can align themselves with Lord Voldemort, if he returns. It's only a matter of time before the world falls into chaos again. Run for your life, if you want to get out alive.
